Standard cable for connecting MIDI 1.0 devices using the classic 180° DIN 41524 connector. Uses only three of five pins (2, 4, 5) to carry the MIDI signal. Low-bandwidth serial protocol (31.25 kbps) — cable quality has minimal impact on signal integrity.

Notes & Compatibility
Cable quality matters less for MIDI than analog audio. Any shielded 5-pin DIN cable from Hosa, Roland, or Adam Hall works reliably to 10m. The cable is directional: MIDI OUT must connect to MIDI IN. Common mistake: buying a generic audio DIN cable instead of MIDI-rated — generic DIN cables may wire all five pins, which can still work but is not standard MIDI wiring.
