Notes & Compatibility
VESA defines three DP 2.1-era cable tiers: DP40 (UHBR 10, 40Gbps), DP54 (UHBR 13.5, 54Gbps — introduced in DP 2.1a for 2m passive cables), and DP80 (UHBR 20, 80Gbps). As of early 2026, DP40 cables are widely available, DP54 is emerging, and DP80 certified cables are just appearing (Sumitomo Electric demonstrated a 3.0m DP80LL cable in January 2026). Verify the UHBR rating when purchasing — 'DisplayPort 2.1' alone does not indicate which tier.
