Microsoft's redesigned Surface Laptop 7 adopts USB4 as its primary connectivity standard, with two USB4 ports replacing the legacy setup of previous generations. Both USB-C / USB4 ports support DisplayPort 2.1, 65W Power Delivery, and data transfer at 40 Gbps. A USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 port and a microSD card reader handle legacy peripherals and memory cards. The proprietary Surface Connect port remains for docking station compatibility with older Surface accessories.
