The socket is 4-pole (TRRS), so headsets with a mic and remote work fully. Output is around 1V — enough for earbuds and most 32-ohm headphones, not enough for 250-ohm studio cans. It cannot charge and play at once; for that you need a Lightning splitter dongle with its own pass-through port.
