The legal-adjacent stuff. Read it once, get on with using the site.
About Cablebabe
Cablebabe (cablebabe.com) is a reference site for cables, connectors, and the devices that use them. We document specs, explain compatibility, and run a Cable Finder tool that tells you which cable connects two specific devices. We’re operated by Thinkie OÜ, registered in Estonia (registration number 12542002, registered address Tasuja 11, Tabasalu, Estonia).
We’re an independent reference site. We’re not affiliated with HDMI Licensing Administrator, USB Implementers Forum, the Thunderbolt trade group, or any cable / device manufacturer. When we mention a product or standard, that’s editorial — not endorsement and not sponsorship.
Affiliate disclosure
Cablebabe participates in affiliate programs. Some links on this site lead to retailers that pay us a referral commission when you buy through them. The commission costs you nothing — the price you pay is the same whether you click an affiliate link or go to the retailer directly.
We use affiliate links to fund the site. We do not adjust which cables or devices we recommend based on commission rates. The Cable Finder’s recommendations are driven by the technical data in our database, not by which retailer pays us best. If a non-affiliate option is the right answer, we’ll point at it.
If specific affiliate programs are added to this site (Amazon Associates, ShareASale, Awin, direct partnerships, etc.), the relevant program-specific disclosures will appear here.
Information accuracy
We do original research on every device in our database. We cross-reference manufacturer documentation, official spec sheets from the standards bodies (HDMI Forum, USB-IF, etc.), and hands-on testing where possible.
That said:
- Specs change. Manufacturers update products mid-cycle, sometimes silently. Always check the manufacturer’s current specifications before buying based on something you read here.
- Compatibility depends on your specific gear. “HDMI 2.1” on the label doesn’t always mean “HDMI 2.1 with full 48Gbps bandwidth” in practice. Cable Finder results are recommendations, not guarantees.
- Errors happen. If you spot one, email us at dashboard [at] cablebabe.com and we’ll fix it.
We do our best to keep everything current. Use the data on Cablebabe as a starting point, not a contract.
No professional advice
Cablebabe is reference material. We’re not a certified installer, your manufacturer’s tech support line, an audio-visual integrator, or your warranty provider. Nothing on this site is professional installation, electrical, or warranty advice.
If you’re wiring a complex home cinema, dealing with high-voltage equipment, or doing anything where a wrong cable could damage expensive gear, hire a certified installer.
Limitation of liability
You use Cablebabe at your own risk. To the maximum extent allowed by law:
- We provide the site “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
- We’re not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the site or reliance on its content.
- We’re not liable for damages caused by content on third-party sites we link to.
- We’re not liable for the actions of affiliate retailers — your relationship with them is governed by their terms.
Where applicable law restricts these limitations (for example, statutory consumer rights in your country), the restrictions of that law apply and these limitations are reduced to the minimum allowed.
Intellectual property
Cablebabe content — articles, the device database, the Cable Finder logic, the brand mark — is owned by Thinkie OÜ and protected under applicable copyright and database-rights law.
Personal, non-commercial use is fine: read, share links, quote a few lines with attribution.
Don’t:
- Republish substantial parts of the site.
- Scrape the database.
- Train a commercial AI / ML model on the site without permission.
- Use the Cablebabe brand mark or mascot without written permission.
If you want to do something that doesn’t fit the personal-use bucket, email dashboard [at] cablebabe.com and we’ll talk.
Trademarks
Brand and product names mentioned on Cablebabe (PlayStation, Xbox, MacBook, LG, Yamaha, HDMI, USB, Thunderbolt, etc.) belong to their respective owners. We use them in their normal descriptive sense — to talk about the products. No claim of affiliation, endorsement, or sponsorship is implied.
External links
We link to manufacturer pages, standards documents, retailers, and other reference sources. Once you click a link off Cablebabe, you’re on someone else’s site under their terms and privacy policy. We’re not responsible for what they publish or how they handle your data.
We try to keep links current and reputable. If you find a broken or sketchy link, let us know.
User-submitted content
As of April 01, 2026, Cablebabe doesn’t accept user submissions, comments, or community contributions. If that changes, this section will too.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when the site changes — new monetization, new features, new legal requirements. The effective date at the top reflects the latest version. Material changes will be flagged on the page for at least 30 days before they take effect.
If you keep using the site after a change takes effect, that counts as acceptance of the revised terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Estonia. Disputes go before Estonian courts unless another forum is required by mandatory consumer-protection law in your jurisdiction.
