This is the last full-size entry iPad to ship with a Lightning port rather than USB-C, and it pairs that with a 3.5mm headphone jack — a combination no current iPad offers. Lightning handles charging and data but caps out well below USB-C speeds and needs a Camera Connection Kit adapter for accessories. It was also the first 10.2-inch iPad to add Apple's three-pin Smart Connector on the side for the Smart Keyboard, an accessory contact rather than a cable port. There is no microSD slot; storage is fixed at 32GB or 128GB.

Notes & Compatibility
Legacy outlier: Lightning (not USB-C) plus a 3.5mm headphone jack. First 10.2-inch iPad with the 3-pin Smart Connector for the Smart Keyboard, which is an accessory contact kept in prose, not modeled as a cable port. No microSD.
