Apple's 2021 8.3-inch iPad mini was the first mini to drop Lightning for USB-C and the first with an all-screen redesign — but it is the only modern iPad in the lineup with no Smart Connector, so it has no first-party Magic Keyboard option. The USB-C port runs USB 3.1 Gen 1 at up to 5 Gb/s with DisplayPort Alt Mode for one external display up to 4K@60Hz and 20W USB-C PD charging. There is no 3.5mm headphone jack and no Thunderbolt.
Apple’s 2021 iPad mini 6 (A15) with a single USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 port (5 Gb/s, DP Alt Mode, 20W charging) and no Smart Connector.

Notes & Compatibility
First iPad mini with USB-C (replacing Lightning) and first with an all-screen redesign. Unlike every other modern iPad, the mini 6 has NO Smart Connector — there is no first-party Magic Keyboard for this model. USB-C runs USB 3.1 Gen 1 at up to 5 Gb/s with DisplayPort Alt Mode for one external display up to 4K@60Hz. Charges via the same port using a 20W USB-C PD adapter. Apple Pencil (2nd gen) charges via the magnetic strip on the long edge — not modelled as a port. No Thunderbolt, no 3.5mm jack, no microSD.
