The Elgato 4K X is the first capture card to deliver lag-free HDMI 2.1 passthrough up to 4K144 with VRR and HDR, while capturing up to 4K144 / 4K30 HDR / 1440p144 to the host PC. The HDMI input is unencrypted, the HDMI output is full HDMI 2.1, and the device uplinks to the host over USB-C running USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10 Gbps) — bandwidth that is essential for uncompressed 4K144 capture. A 3.5mm TRS line-in lets streamers mix party chat into the stream.

Notes & Compatibility
Bus-powered via USB-C. HDMI input is unencrypted (HDCP must be disabled on source consoles). Capture and passthrough both top out at 2160p144 / VRR / HDR — 10 Gbps over USB 3.2 Gen 2 is required for uncompressed 4K144 capture; falling back to USB 3.0 caps resolution. Box ships with 1.5 m USB-C to USB-C cable plus a 2 m 8K HDMI cable.
