Kensington SD5000T5 EQ Thunderbolt 5 Dock (2024)

The SD5000T5 EQ is an Intel-certified Thunderbolt 5 docking station built around the new 80 Gbps (120 Gbps Bandwidth Boost) controller. A single upstream TB5 cable carries data, up to three 4K@144 Hz displays (or two 6K/8K displays) and 140 W of charging to the host laptop. Three downstream TB5 ports handle video + peripherals — one is rated for 60 W to charge a second device, while the other two deliver 15 W each. Three USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 ports, a 2.5 GbE jack, dedicated UHS-II SD and microSD slots and a 3.5 mm combo audio jack round out a full-desktop replacement hub.

Thunderbolt 5 triple-4K dock with 140 W host PD, 3x TB5 downstream, 3x USB-A 10 Gbps, 2.5 GbE, UHS-II SD + microSD.

Notes & Compatibility

Worldwide first Intel-certified Thunderbolt 5 docking station (Kensington press release, Nov 2024). Supports 3x 4K@144 Hz or 2x 6K@60 Hz / 2x 8K@60 Hz via the downstream TB5 ports — no dedicated HDMI or DP jacks; use TB5/USB-C-to-HDMI or DP adapters/cables. Host port delivers 140 W PD; of the three TB5 downstream ports, one supplies 60 W PD (for charging a second laptop/tablet) and the other two supply 15 W each. External power adapter uses a proprietary DC barrel (omitted here, not in approved connector database).
