The Intel-powered Surface Pro 9 was the 2022 generation that switched the design language to flat sides and dropped the headphone jack in favour of two USB-C ports — both Thunderbolt 4 capable, supporting 40Gbps data and external 4K displays. Charging works over either USB-C or the magnetic Surface Connect port at the right edge. Microsoft removed the microSD slot here too, so storage expansion is permanent — pick the right SSD up front. The bottom-edge Surface Pro Signature Keyboard connector remains for the typecover, but is not a user-cable port.
Microsoft’s 2022 Intel 2-in-1 with two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports and Surface Connect, no headphone jack or microSD slot.
