Samsung HW-Q990F Soundbar (2025)

Samsung's 2025 flagship 11.1.4-channel Dolby Atmos soundbar comes packaged with a wireless subwoofer and dedicated wireless rear speakers. Two HDMI 2.1 inputs handle 4K@120Hz pass-through with VRR, ALLM, Dolby Vision and HDR10+, while a third HDMI port serves as the eARC output to the TV. Network connectivity is Wi-Fi only — there is no built-in Ethernet jack on the bar. Q-Symphony pairs the bar with a 2024+ Samsung TV so the TV's speakers act as additional channels.

Samsung’s flagship 11.1.4 Dolby Atmos system with 2x HDMI 2.1 inputs (4K@120Hz, VRR), HDMI eARC out, and wireless rears.

Notes & Compatibility

11.1.4 channels with wireless subwoofer + wireless rear speakers. eARC on the HDMI to TV port. Both HDMI inputs support 4K@120Hz, VRR, ALLM, Dolby Vision and HDR10+ pass-through. Wi-Fi only: no Ethernet jack. The bar decodes DTS:X and DTS-HD Master Audio, but Samsung TVs made from 2018 on do not handle DTS at all, and Samsung’s own support page tells you to run the source into the soundbar’s HDMI IN instead of through the TV. On a Samsung set that is the one connection choice worth getting right. Sending a 4K@120Hz console through the pass-through inputs wants Ultra High Speed (48Gbps) HDMI cable on both sides of the bar. The USB-A port is for firmware service, not media playback.
