Sonnet Breakaway Box 850 T5 eGPU (2025)

The Sonnet Breakaway Box 850 T5 is Sonnet's first Thunderbolt 5 eGPU enclosure, sized for triple-wide 13.5" graphics cards drawing up to 600W from its internal 850W universal PSU. The 80 Gbps upstream Thunderbolt 5 connection delivers 100W of Power Delivery back to a compatible Windows 11 host, while an integrated Thunderbolt dock adds a second TB5 port for 15W PD daisy-chaining, three 10 Gb/s USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports (each providing 7.5W for USB NVMe SSDs), and a Realtek 5GbE RJ-45 for multi-gig wired networking. Mains power arrives via an IEC C14 inlet.

Notes & Compatibility

5GbE port uses Realtek RTL8157 controller and auto-negotiates 5G/2.5G/1G/100M — represented here as a proprietary 5GBASE-T entry because 5GbE is not in the approved connector list. Flag for manual review. PCIe slot and GPU power harness are internal and not listed.
