This 5-bay desktop NAS keeps its networking simple out of the box: four Gigabit Ethernet ports you can bond for up to 4 Gbps of aggregate throughput, plus a spare PCIe slot for an optional 10GbE upgrade module. Two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports (5 Gbps) handle external backup drives, while two eSATA expansion ports connect Synology's DX517 units to grow past five bays. There is no HDMI output, so administration is entirely network-based through DSM.

Notes & Compatibility
Default networking is 4x 1GbE; a PCIe slot accepts the optional E10G22-T1-Mini 10GbE module (not modeled). Two eSATA expansion ports for DX517 units fall outside the approved connector palette and are described here in prose. External brick PSU; drive bays and M.2 NVMe cache slots are internal.
