Sony INZONE H9 (2022)

Sony's first INZONE gaming headset adapts the WH-1000XM4 chassis for gaming, pairing the same active noise cancellation with a 2.4GHz USB-A wireless dongle and Bluetooth 5.0. The H9 controversially ships with no 3.5mm jack at all — the USB-C port on the headset is for charging only, and there is no wired audio path. To use the headset on Xbox or any console without USB-A, you are limited to Bluetooth or unsupported wired modes. 32 hours of battery life over the 2.4GHz link, with simultaneous Bluetooth phone-call mixing supported.

Sony INZONE H9 — USB-A 2.4GHz dongle, Bluetooth 5.0, USB-C charge only, no 3.5mm jack, 32hr battery.

Notes & Compatibility

The INZONE H9 has no 3.5mm jack — the H9 II (2025) is the model that added one. USB-C on the H9 is USB 2.0 and charge-only; wired USB audio is not supported. Ships with a USB-A 2.4GHz wireless dongle for PC, PS5, and docked Switch. Bluetooth 5.0 (SBC + AAC) runs simultaneously with the dongle for phone-call mixing. Active noise cancellation borrowed from the WH-1000XM4.
