Synology's value four-bay DS423 keeps networking to two Gigabit Ethernet jacks that can be bonded via Link Aggregation for up to 2 Gbps combined, alongside two USB 3.2 Gen 1 (5 Gbps) Type-A ports for external backup drives. Unlike the plus-series models it has no eSATA expansion and no USB-C, so the only cables that matter for setup are two Cat5e/Cat6 Ethernet leads. Wired transfer speeds are capped by the 1GbE links unless both ports are teamed.
Four-bay value Synology NAS with dual Gigabit Ethernet (Link Aggregation) and two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports; no eSATA or USB-C.
