Xbox Series S (2020)

The Xbox Series S gets the same single HDMI 2.1 port as the Series X, aimed at 1440p at up to 120Hz with 4K upscaling, plus VRR and ALLM. There's no disc drive and no optical output, so audio goes over HDMI too. Three USB-A 5Gbps ports, one front and two rear, take controllers and external drives. Series X|S games won't run from a USB drive, only from the internal SSD or a card in the rear expansion slot. Gigabit Ethernet completes the back panel. Here's every port and its cable.

Compact all-digital 9th-generation console targeting 1440p gaming at up to 120fps. Same Quick Resume and SSD architecture as Series X in 60% smaller form factor. No disc drive.
