MacBook Air (M3, 2024)

Both sizes of the 2024 M3 MacBook Air carry the same port set: two Thunderbolt/USB4 ports (40Gb/s, DisplayPort Alt Mode, and USB-C charging support) on the left, a 3.5mm headphone jack on the right, and a dedicated MagSafe 3 charging port rated at 70W. The 15-inch isn't just a bigger screen — it's the first 15" Air — but the port layout and charging story are identical to the 13-inch. No HDMI, no SD card slot, no wired Ethernet.

Notes & Compatibility

Both Thunderbolt/USB4 ports run at 40Gb/s with DisplayPort Alt Mode and can charge the machine over USB-C, but neither is individually rated for a fixed wattage — that comes from whichever adapter you plug in. MagSafe 3 is the dedicated charging port and is rated up to 70W with the optional 70W USB-C Power Adapter; the in-box adapter is a 30W USB-C brick on the base 8-core-GPU config or a 35W Dual USB-C Compact adapter on the 10-core-GPU / 512GB configs, either of which also works over MagSafe or USB-C. The headphone jack has “advanced support for high-impedance headphones.” Same port set, same charging ceiling, both sizes — the only real difference between them is screen size and battery capacity.
