HD Retrovision is the reference implementation; the transcoder sits in the plug and is powered by the console, so there is no brick and no switch. Output is 240p/480i component — a display or upscaler that accepts 240p over component is required, and many early HDTVs refuse it. Model 2 / 32X / Nomad only; the Model 1 needs the 8-pin version. Best non-SCART route for this hardware.
